Salmy Acres Kennel was established in 1987. The primary mission is to breed top notch hunting/house partners and winning field trial competitors. Temperment, bidability, natural instincts to hunt, retrieve and please are most important. No "force" training methods used. Virginia, including the Washington D.C. metro area and western Virgina and West Virginia being our main objective to promote and improve the breed, as well as the field trial circuit.  Home of FC AFC Salmy's Zorro, 1994 and 1995 US OPEN High Point dog and winner of more than 10 trials and over 200 points and a 2nd in Open National as well as one 4th place. Puppies, and started dogs for sale. Congratulations and many thanks to all my clients (see clients page) for your trust and confidence. We had a good year with all the youngsters and we are looking forward to a better year in 2008 as our students mature. We had two 2 year olds win Opens in Canada and the US Opens this year (Drake and Freedom) and several other placements in Opens and Puppy stakes. We also had dogs in training, run and place in Amateur stakes, running with their owners. Congratulations to Janie Haworth and Josh Montler for their Amateur placements with Drake and Scotch. We couldn’t have accomplished everything we have without the support and trust of my clients who are also very good friends to Julie and myself. We’ve had fun. More to come. |
